I've tried it in IE6 before and today in IE7 and I still get that leak, my colleague is getting this leak too on his computer.
Right now i'm getting 103.044 kB.

The strange thing is... When I minimize the browser (with the modal message turned on) and restore the window again, it only uses 17.500 kB while showing all the same stuff.

I now tried it on my laptop (windows XP pro SP2 with all updates installed):
Firefox = no problem, memory stays the same
IE7 = from 16 MB to 83 MB when triggering a modal message
