Ajax (f.ex. ajax_loadContent) with POST parameters?

Using prototype.js, I can easily add post parameters to a ajax update using
Ajax.Updater(targetDiv, scriptFile, {parameters: params})

Is there a way of doing this in the Dhtml environment?

Besides, I often use the params method above in combination with the prototype.js Form.serialize($(formId)) method:

params = params + '&' + Form.serialize($(dataForm));
Ajax.Updater(targetDiv, scriptFile, {parameters: params})

This makes it extremely easy to pass my own parameter/value-pairs and/or forms to the script, and return the desired html-code to the targetDiv...

Can something like this easily be done in DhtmlGoodies?
