Hi!

I also try to use AJAXLIST but have the following problem:

Everything works perfectly fine in FireFox but IE doesn't return a result but an error-message instead : System error: -1072896658

I have spend quite a lot of time searching the internet and found some hints here .
So I tried the following:

added "echo utf8_encode(...)" to ajax-list.php - no success
added "AddCharset utf-8 .php" to my .htaccess - no success
added "charset=utf-8" to the xmlhttp.setRequestHeader in ajax.js [this.xmlhttp.setRequestHeader("Content-Type", "application/x-www-form-urlencoded; charset=utf-8")] - no success
added "this.xmlhttp.setRequestHeader("encoding", "utf-8");" to ajax.js - no success

B.t.w, running the script on my local pc doesn't bring up an error-message. Script runs great.

Anybode out there, who might be able to shed some light on this?

I solved it after spending another couple of hours searching the internet.

You have to enter an addional "HEADER"-line in the .php script being called from .js :

"header("Content-Type: text/plain; charset=utf-8");"

After that, everything works perfectly fine.
