script working on the webserver, but not working localy

is working on the webserver, but not working localy.
That is to say,
-I download "modal-message.zip"
-I unzip it
-I open demo-modal-message.html on Firefox or IE.
[The webpage appears]
-i click on "Message from url (example 1)"
[A window appears with the text "Loading content - please wait", but it gets stucks here]
However,
If I upload all the files (demo-modal-message.html and the others)
to a webserver,
then it works.
Why so?
How can I make it work, even locally?
