using newline in Dynamic client lookup

I want to retrieve the fields from the database and concatenate them into a text area field. but I have a problem with adding the newline "\n" character.

I want to do something like:

$address = $inf["customer_name"]."\n";
$address .= $inf["address1"]."\n";
$address .= $inf["state"].", ";
$address .= $inf["postal_code"];

echo "formObj.address.value = '".$address."';\n";

but the "\n" does not work. it works fine without the "\n".

I can use a javascript to get the newlines once I get the info over to the text area but that would be a manual step i would like to avoid.

Any help would be appreciated.
