So, I used the AJAX chained select from this site with PHP and utilized it with dynamic information. The only problem now is that one of the display fields contains apostrophes. I was playing around with addslashes/stripslashes, but it defeats the purpose with the code provided.

Below is the code from the page.
echo "obj.options[obj.options.length] = new Option('" . stripslashes($r["name"]) . "','" . $r["id"] . "');\n";

With add/strip slashes, it still would output the following:
...new Option ('Xenia's','40')...

Any ideas for a work around? Please help.

No, that didn't work. Adding single around variable name didn't make a difference. And changing the single, double to double, single was just a programming error.

But I got an answer elsewhere and this worked.
'".addslashes($r["name"])."'

I left apostrophes in database, added the addslashes to getCities and it didn't even display the slashes within the dropdown.

Looks like it's working now.
