Thank for the absolutely stunning scripts.
I'm trying to figure out how to save the user's preferences to my sql database for Drag and Drop RSS Boxes and found that Bill Minton at has been able to figure this out.
This I have found so far in the forum threads to save feeds in database:
1. disable cookies in dragable-boxes.js
var useCookiesToRememberRSSSources = false;
2. Add the following to dragable-boxes.js and rename it to index.php
<script type="text/javascript">
function createDefaultBoxes()
{
<?
$dbh=mysql_connect ("localhost", "*******", "********") or die ('I cannot connect to the database because: ' . mysql_error());
mysql_select_db("*******") or die ("Unable to select database!");
$res = mysql_query("select * from RSSFeeds where UserName='******'") or die(mysql_error());
while($inf = mysql_fetch_array($res))
{
?>
createARSSBox('<? echo $inf["RSSURL"]; ?>',<? echo $inf["ColNum"]; ?>,false,<? echo $inf["NumItems"]; ?>,<? echo $inf["RefreshTime"]; ?>);
<?
}
?>
}
</script>
3. move the createDefaultBoxes() function from the dragable-boxes.js(now index.php) file to the dragable-boxes.html file
Questions:
The above will just save the rss feeds to the database, am I correct?
What would the sql code be for the above?
Now, the most important ... how do I get a user's selection to save in the database as well please ..
This would be absolutely amazing and look forward to any reply.
