Arrange content javascript error

I receive an error 'dragObject.style' is null or not an object... which is causing errors in IE, mozilla seems to ignore it. Any idea what this could be caused by? I copied the script exactly as directed.

It appears that this is caused by not having the doctype.... should that be? It works just fine with the doctype, but when I remove it.. no good
