Extremely Slow Menu Animation in IE7

In both these examples:

There is dramatically increased loading time once page content is added and a style sheet is attached. My HTML is very basic for testing purposes (only has one table) and my CSS is very clean (loading only about 20KB of images).

This only seems to affect Internet Explorer 7. This is very frustrating, please help! Thanks.
