List based DHTML menu load faster?

I am using the List based DHTML menu -

I was wondering if there was a way to make it load first/faster.

I notice it doesn't show up until the whole page is loaded.

Oh, here is my site. Maybe it takes a long time to load because of all the images/content? Still, is there a way to make it load first?
