CSS Image Map doesn't work in any browser...

Hi Chris! (Or any other extremely helpful person who is in or out of our time zone ... ;-)

I thought this was going to be so straightforward...No way! I can't get this to work in anything! The links always seem to be stuck in top left, not in the right places.

I took it from Andy Budd's book CSS Mastery: Advanced Web Standards Solutions, and took into account the errata that stated the image elements should be made into background images for IE6/7.
