Refreshing in the admin section - Poll

Hi,

Just something i've noticed, and it may be IE or something I have done by accident.

But noticed that if you are in the adm-poller.php page. then

1) click on your current poll
2) add a new option to the poll
3) hit save

...then the new option appears - great

however...

when you hit refresh on that page after adding a new option the option you added duplicates itself several times - is that just me or a known problem?

Any ideas?

sounds to me like your refresh fires the insert code again.... refreshing is bad in all application, but the coder who wrote the php page should have taken that into consideration.... I usually put a control page in between my pages and then use location.replace so that when a user hits back or refresh, the insert doesn't get run again... sounds to me like this is just an issue of not protecting the code and hitting refresh is bad... so to answer your question, it's not an IE thing, it's a php code thing and something you've done thing.... don't hit refresh after adding a new option...

ok, but then hit back... oops you added it again.... try using location.replace('<? echo $_SERVER['PHP_SELF']; ?>'); instead of location.href. Using href adds to the history of the browser so hitting the back button will return you to the page that added the entry and may possibly add another. I always use replace to be safe!
