how to highlight the active node?

hello there,

is there any chance to highlight the current active node? the one i just clicked on should be bold or something... and remain bold until the next node clicked...

by the way, the script is exactly what i was looking for. and with the active status visible it would be excellent

many thanks, gee that was a quick solution and it works just fine.
i just encountered one slight problem: there seems to be a problem with the sliding of navigation level 2 and three. level 2 "looses" one entry and level 3 does not slide out when clicked...
i have got a version online:

level 2 problem:
"Content-Manager" -> "Externer Bereich", the last enty "Hilfe" disappears, when clicking on "Interner Bereich" it reappears and stays visible, strange behaviour

level 3 problem:
"Benutzer/ Gruppen" -> "Benutzer-Manager", does not slide out, the folder symbols indicates where sublevels are available.

the current script works just fine in the current version of firefox and opera and fails in ie 6... and since i need this to work with ie this is quite a severe problem.
