I've searched the web for a long time for a simple server based image enhancing script, and this script is a BIG step in that direction.
The idea is to let people use a simple on-site image editor where they can crop, rotate, auto-sharpen, auto-color and change size.
Looking at Alf's script, it looks like few enhancements could make it a basis for such a needed tool.
Here are my suggestions:
1. Add programmer defined buttons on the GUI so we can easily add other features such as rotate-right-90, rotate-left-90, sharpen, undo etc. These should activate the AJAX immediately. It is the programmer responsibility to call imageMagick with the proper values.
2. Allow edit-submit-edit cycle, until user clicks on "Save". So cropping is just one option among others. The GUI interface looks flexible enough so we can show the original image alongside the enhanced one.
With these seemingly simple changes, it could become a really usefull script for image galleries, dating sites etc.
Thanks
