Sub Menu Width on Unobtrusive Slide out Menu

I love this script - very smooth - but when I try to put the variable var fixedSubMenuWidth = false; in the javascript to automatically make the submenu the width necessary to fit the links - nothing happens. I tried to set it a specific pixel width as well with no luck.

Any help GREATLY appreciated.

I posted yesterday about the submenu width - i thought there would be an easy fix - i have tried everything with no luck... anyone - help - pretty please?

It seems like the forum has been somewhat abandoned. I felt I had a fairly simple problem as well but haven't heard anything back. I'm thinking I'll have to head in another direction soon, but I can't really complain since I got the script for free.

Not sure if this has been covered - it might be worth mentioning that in IE6 you need to specify a width for the sub-menu items, otherwise they stretch to a ridiculous length.
