sorry EBJ i am very busy trying to make my web-site a better place to look at 
If my rusty memory serves me right, Mike Hall from Brain Jar resolved this problem in his Revenge of the Menu Bar.
Go to and follow the Revenge Of Menu Bar in DHTML menu. he has a technique there.

Sorry for the late response... I will try this out once I figure out a solution to get the menus to overlap select html elements when viewing a site with IE. I saw an earlier post about this so I'm going to see what can be done. I'm not very fancy with JavaScript when it comes to some complex things like this, but I'll give it a shot.
