Unfortunately, you can't switch it back as the script is now. I will however make it optional to choose where to have the collapse/expand buttons soon.

Thanks for the feedback. That would be wonderful if the location was optional. I was hoping that it was still a possibility because I could still see the old images and lines referencing the old expand/collapse still in the pane splitter css file along with the new way in the latest releases.

Unfortunately I have some users who freak when you change a font color, let alone UI design.
