I made a topic for the same before 2 months,

Download any tooltip script.... I am using script from dynamicdrive

and Change the for loop inside the function showRSSData()

Existing loop :

Hi San,

Following your instructions I get a little yellow-ish box with the content of the tooltip looking like:

Today%20is%20Tuesday%20March%2016%202007%20..etc etc..all on one long line, longer than the size of the tooltip box.

I'm kinda confused and I don't understand how this is occurring. Is the code in the .html file at fault or is it the onmouseover code?

I'm not a coder, so a little more explanation would be greatly appreciated.

Hi,

Upto now I have only been trying this in firefox. When i try it in IE i get a bigger tooltip with all the content within the tooltip (as it should be) but the content is just the rss feeds and links interspered with %20's all over, and not the actual content of the site being linked to.

Can anyone shed some light on this for me please?

Sorry for the late reply..,

Dont fear with %20, it is nothing but ascii for spaces ....

why u got this is we are escape() the string while passing....

Inside the ddrivetip() function u have to unescape() the sting...


function ddrivetip(thetext, thewidth, thecolor){
thetext = unescape(thetext);
....
...
}


If u dont want to see the full description in the tooltip,

U can pass the string upto u want ,

Suppose u want to see 300 charactors in the description,

Change the showRSSData() function.

i have added googles' gadgets inside the static boxes

but when i reload the page facing these issues

sometimes working well

sometimes some boxes getting its values others simply remains with the text(Loading RSS data)

sometimes i am getting the position of the boxes... sometime not

whats the route cause for this problem

I've been trying for days and I just cannot get this to work properly.

I can't seem to "unescape" the text for the tool tip.
The tooltips show up in IE but they are colored incorrectly (so bad I can't even read them).
In Firefox a yellow tip shows up, but again it's unescaped text that overflows the tip-box (The tip box is not being colored or sized correctly either).

This is #1 on my wishlist for this script.
Is there any chance that a mouseover tooltip will be added to this script?

I'm willing to pay a fee for a programmer to implement this feature (preferably using box-over) on my site.
